The so-called “New Religious Movements,” commonly known as pseudo-spiritual movements, have various drawbacks. Nowadays, they have become a pervasive social issue for major religions such as Islam and Christianity, as well as some sociologists and psychologists. Wherever traces of pseudo-spiritual movements are observed, the issue of how to confront individuals exposed to these movements also arises.

Effective confrontation involves a calculated inhibitory approach of regular and purposeful interventions aimed at preventing individuals’ inclination towards pseudo-spiritual movements. The issue of confronting individuals exposed to emerging spiritualities is more about guidance and collaboration than conflict and confrontation. This research is an initial step in finding constructive and effective methods of confronting individuals exposed to emerging spiritualities.

The author of this work has attempted to organize and share their experiences in the form of an applicable model. The effectiveness and breakthrough potential of the findings from this research, as well as its strengths and weaknesses, will be determined through subsequent experiments.

This book is composed of seven chapters. The first chapter discusses basic definitions, concepts, and some assumptions regarding spirituality and pseudo-spiritual movements. The second chapter provides a detailed description of the research methodology.

The third chapter analyzes the inclination towards pseudo-spiritual movements and describes the types, levels, and causes of inclination towards such movements. The fourth chapter examines the triangle of needs, attraction, and inclination, presenting the explanatory theory of the research.

The fifth chapter focuses on methods of detecting the triangle of needs, attraction, and inclination, as well as discovering the foundation of inclination towards pseudo-spiritual movements in individuals. The sixth chapter explains the general principles of preventive interventions. Finally, in the seventh chapter, the book concludes by discussing methods of confronting individuals exposed to pseudo-spiritual movements based on preventive levels.
