Faith (Quran)
One of the names of the Quran is “Iman” (faith): “Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, [saying], ‘Believe in your Lord'” (Quran 3:193).
Al-Zarkashi narrates from Abu al-Ma’ali al-Azizi, known as “Shaydhala,” 55 names for the Quran, one of which is “Iman.” However, Al-Suyuti, while mentioning these names, considers “the caller” (munadi) in the verse as one of the names of the Quran. The opinion of some commentators, who consider “the caller” to be the Prophet (peace be upon him) or the Quran itself, whose call and invitation continue to this day, supports Al-Suyuti’s view.
