In the fallawing essay, our main aim is to explore the relationship betweenfiqlı (law) and kalanı (theology). Naturally, in order to gain a deeper understanding of this relationship, it is important to examine the two essential religious disciplines in their histarical context. Finally, I will mention some points which we found useful for better treatment and improvement of these sciences according to the needs of modern times.
